Maker of the Northumbrian Pipers' plaid
The Northumbrian Pipers' plaid is worn by pipers for both formal and informal piping occasions.
Our plaids are made-to-measure by kiltmaker Kate Robertson.
Made with the 'Nothumberland Check' (also known as the 'Nothumberland Tartan' or 'Shepherd's Plaid') tweed. The tweed is of exceptional quality, woven locally in the Scottish Borders, and beautifully soft and comfortable to wear.
The plaid is draped over the left shoulder and secured with a brooch. The length of the full plaid is typically around 3.7 - 4.0 metres long, based on the wearer's height and body shape, and typically reaches the top of an ankle boot at the front and back.
The pleats are pre-folded, steam-pressed and partially sewn for ease of dressing, particularly when arriving at a venue ready to play.

Please send Kate an email to order your Northumbrian Pipers' plaid, to be worn and treasured for years to come!
